Emergency services arrived quickly, treating two schoolgirls and an injured adult woman. The driver was detained on scene by police and an off-duty officer who was present at the time.

The vehicle was seen heading the wrong way on Church Street before hitting the three pedestrians. This dangerous manoeuvre sparked the police response.
