Thick Fog Warning Hits London and South East
The Met Office has issued a fog warning for London, the East, and South East England this Monday morning, November 14. The warning is active from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., bringing dangers for travellers and commuters alike.
Airports Urge Caution as Fog Rolls In
London City Airport tweeted early today: “Due to adverse weather conditions, please check the status of your flight before travelling to the airport.” This follows their warning last night: “It’s a foggy London night, and the fog may linger into Monday morning, so we’d encourage all passengers to check the status of their flight before travelling.
Gatwick Airport Police tweeted a striking photo of the thick fog and warned drivers to use extreme caution around the airport. They revealed some roads nearby have very low visibility, posing risks for travellers.
Travel Delays and Cancellations Expected
- The Met Office predicts visibility could drop to just 100 metres in some areas.
- Expect slow journey times and delays to bus and train services.
- Flight delays and cancellations are possible due to poor visibility.
Passengers and motorists are advised to check travel updates before setting off this morning to stay safe in the murky conditions.
