Woman Critical After Jump from Southampton Motorway Bridge
A woman in her 20s or early 30s was left in critical condition after jumping from a major motorway bridge in Southampton this evening.
Emergency Services Swift to Scene
Specialist negotiators tried to talk her down, but despite their efforts, she jumped onto the carriageway below. Police and Highways England quickly declared a major incident and shut down the affected section of the M27 motorway.

All rushed to the scene to treat the woman, who suffered serious, life-changing injuries. She was airlifted to Southampton General Major Trauma Centre.
