Blaze on the River Hamble Sparks Emergency Rescue
Hillhead Coastguard Search and Rescue and Hampshire Fire and Rescue teams raced to the River Hamble this afternoon (Wednesday, May 30) after a vessel reported an engine fire.
Harbour Master Raises the Alarm
The harbour Master alerted the fire service when RNLI Calshot Lifeboat was seen recovering a boat with a suspected engine blaze.
Firefighters Confirm Safety
Crews from Hightown quickly checked the vessel and confirmed all on board were safe. The teams have now returned to their stations, leaving the owner to sort the engine fault.
