Central Line Night Chaos This Weekend
No trains between Leytonstone and Loughton, and Leytonstone and Hainault (via Newbury Park) from 1am to 3am on Friday and Saturday nights, March 24 and 25. Night Tube is also out between White City and Leytonstone.
A rail replacement bus service will be running, with alternatives on the Tube, Elizabeth line, and local buses.
Overground and Elizabeth Line Disruptions
- Overground: No service between Gospel Oak and Woodgrange Park on Saturday and Sunday (March 25-26). Also, no trains from Surrey Quays to Clapham Junction, but rail replacement buses will be available.
- Sydenham to West Croydon: No trains after 10:15pm from Monday 27th to Thursday 30th March. Use local buses, trams, or Southern replacement buses.
- Elizabeth Line: On Sunday, March 26, no service between Paddington and Ealing Broadway until 7:45am. Trains to Heathrow T5 won’t stop before 6pm, and services between Paddington and Heathrow T2/3 and Maidenhead are reduced. Use alternative Tube routes.
DLR Replacement Service
On Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 March, a rail replacement bus runs between Prince Regent and Beckton. Plan ahead if you usually rely on this stretch.
Road and Bus Warnings: Expect Delays!
Big events mean big crowds and traffic jams:
- March 25: Rugby match at Twickenham Stadium (10:30am-9pm) and The Twilight Walk at York Avenue (3:30pm-4:30pm).
- March 26: Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race at Putney Bridge (10am-7pm) with heavy crowds but no road closures.
- Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan procession in Hounslow closes Albion Road from 10am to 7pm.
- Wembley Stadium hosts England vs. Ukraine football match from 1pm to 9pm, kick-off 5pm. Expect major traffic and crowds.
- Michael Buble performs at The O2 Arena, 5:30pm to 11:30pm, adding to congestion.
Roadworks:
- A4 Great West Road shuts eastbound completely from 10pm Friday 24 March to 5am Monday 27 March between M4 Junction 2 and Hogarth Roundabout. Westbound reduced to one lane between Hogarth and Chiswick Roundabouts. Use clear diversions and plan routes via M40/A40 to avoid delays.
- Lane restrictions on M4 Chiswick Flypast between Boston Manor Road and Lionel Road North continue until end of May.
- Wandsworth roundabout closed until April 1, with daily lane closures from 8am to 5pm for essential maintenance. Expect delays and follow diversion signs.
- A40 Western Avenue open until April 30 but with lane restrictions and overnight partial closures (10pm-5am). Check live updates and allow extra travel time.
