Dog Drama on Hastings Cliffs Ends in Happy Rescue!

Coastguard Teams Called to Cliffside Calamity

Hastings Coastguard Team jumped into action alongside East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (ESFRS) after a dog tumbled down cliffs in Old Town Hastings on Sunday afternoon, 23rd April 2023.

Firefighters Win the Day

Thankfully, ESFRS had already located and rescued the pup safely before the coastguards arrived—no rope rescue was needed. The dog was none the worse for wear and quickly reunited with relieved owners.

Warning for Dog Walkers Ahead of Summer

With the coastguard team stood down and back at base, they urged pet owners to keep their dogs on leads near cliffs. As summer draws near, a risky wander could quickly turn dangerous along Hastings’ stunning but treacherous coastline.
