Huge Fire Rips Through Erith Industrial Yard
Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters are battling a massive blaze at an industrial yard on Manor Road, Erith. The London Fire Brigade sprang into action after receiving over 20 emergency calls early this morning.
Smoke Chokes Local Area, Residents Warned
The London Fire Brigade was first alerted at 04:07am, responding to reports of flames engulfing several vehicles and outbuildings. Thick, choking smoke is still billowing from the scene.
“A large amount of smoke is being produced,” said a spokesperson for the brigade. “Residents in the local area are advised to keep doors and windows shut while crews deal with the fire.”
Specialist Equipment Deployed to Fight Fire
Firefighters have brought in a Hose Layer and High Volume Pump to maintain a strong water supply. Crews from Plumstead, Erith, Bexley, and nearby fire stations are working non-stop.
