Man Killed and Three Injured in Shocking Alloa Flat Explosion

A brutal explosion ripped through a block of flats in Alloa, Clackmannanshire, on Sunday evening, leaving one man dead and three others injured.

Fatal Blast Rocks Kellie Place

The blast struck a property on Kellie Place at around 6pm on 6 October. Police Scotland declared it a major incident after finding the man dead at the scene. His identity has yet to be confirmed.

“We are still working to establish the full circumstances of what happened at this property,” said Sergeant Neill Drummond. “One male has passed away. Our inquiries to identify him and support next of kin are ongoing.”

Firefighters responded with a massive force – 11 fire engines, including specialist urban search and heavy rescue units. They’re working to make the area safe alongside emergency partners.

Support and Safety Measures Underway

Alloa Town Hall has been opened as a refuge for displaced residents. Those whose flats are unsafe will be rehoused. Meanwhile, police have implemented multiple road closures, including parts of the A907 and Kellie Place.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service added: “Crews are working with emergency partners to secure the site.”

Police urged the public to steer clear of the area as investigations and utility safety checks continue.
