Dr John Knighton has been named the new Medical Director of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, the team behind Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham. Known for steering the hospital’s critical care unit to an “Outstanding” CQC rating in 2016, Knighton brings serious clout to the top job.

From Associate to Top Doc

Previously Associate Medical Director at the Trust, Knighton has also served as a CQC Specialist Advisor on Acute Hospital inspections. He’s passionate about boosting patient safety and nurturing a culture where multi-disciplinary teams work seamlessly to deliver top quality care.
