This afternoon, Newhaven Coastguard sprang into action after a paraglider crashed into dense gorse bushes close to Newhaven Fort.
Rescue Team Battles Thick Brambles to Reach Injured Flyer
Working alongside East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, the team carved a path through the prickly undergrowth to reach the stranded flyer. They quickly assessed injuries and safely hauled the casualty out of the thicket.
Lucky Break: Spikey Gorse Softened the Fall
Miraculously, both the paraglider and their wing escaped serious harm. The crash was softened by the dense but cushioned gorse and brambles, preventing what could have been a nasty accident.
