A shocking fire tore through three boats at the popular Norfolk Broads tourist spot on Saturday afternoon.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the Marsh Road area of Hoveton at around 3pm after reports of a large smoke plume near Wroxham sparked concern. Residents were urged to keep windows and doors shut as thick smoke billowed across the area.

Crews from Wroxham, Sprowston, Carrow, and the swiftwater rescue team from Carrow worked tirelessly, wearing breathing apparatus and using main jets and hose reels to douse the intense blaze.

The flames were brought under control just before 5:30pm, though firefighters remained on site to ensure the area was safe. Photos reveal devastating damage to the boats, confirming the loss of three vessels in the inferno.
