East Hampshire Ditches Paper Permits for Parking

From Monday 16 May, East Hampshire District Council is going digital. Say goodbye to paper parking permits and hello to instant electronic tickets.

Instant Permits, No More Paper

Apply online and you’ll get your seasonal parking permit immediately — no more waiting days for it to arrive in the post. Even better, you won’t need to plaster a paper ticket on your car window or worry about losing it. The digital permit cuts out the hassle and mistakes.

Eco-Friendly Move

The council is also going green by scrapping paper permits, reducing waste and lowering its carbon footprint. A win for drivers and the environment alike.

Council Reassures Non-Digital Users

“Residents and businesses will benefit from the new online paperless permit as it will be the quickest and easiest way to gain a seasonal parking permit,” said Councillor Ingrid Thomas, Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Quality.

“With no need to print or post permits it will also reduce our carbon footprint. However, I would like to reassure anyone who is not online, that they can still get their permit in the usual way.”

Permit prices won’t change, apart from the usual annual increases. The future of parking in East Hampshire is digital, quick, and green.
