Police Hunt Arsonist After Fiery Explosion in Acocks Green

West Midlands Police are on the lookout for a dangerous arsonist after a fire and explosion ripped through a house in Acocks Green last Sunday (24 July).

Blaze So Fierce It Injured the Attacker

CCTV footage shows the suspect arriving at a Broad Road property with two large white jerry cans. Moments after setting the fire, the flare’s force likely caught the culprit in the flames, leaving them with flash burns, singed hair, and damaged clothing.

No Clear Face, But a Silver Volkswagen in Sight

Unfortunately, the footage doesn’t reveal the attacker’s face. However, officers have identified the vehicle involved – a silver Volkswagen Golf Mk6 (2008-2014 model).
