Tragic Crash on Station Hill: Man Dies After BMW Hits HGV

A yellow HGV lorry and a yellow BMW collided on Station Hill today, June 7, at around 12:13pm. Emergency services rushed to the scene, including Southampton Central Ambulance Service and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, shutting surrounding roads to respond to the incident.

Driver Succumbs to Serious Injuries

The BMW driver, a 26-year-old man from Eastleigh, was rushed to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Sadly, he later died. Police have informed his family and are supporting them during this devastating time.

Police Launch Investigation, Seek Witnesses

Sergeant Jon White said: “We are conducting preliminary inquiries to determine the exact circumstances that led to this tragic loss of life.”

Officers want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time. They’re especially interested in dash-cam footage or CCTV from local businesses showing the moments before the crash.
