Pregnant Driver Forced Into Oncoming Traffic in Shocking Road Rage Incident
A terrifying road rage episode left a heavily pregnant woman fighting for safety on the streets of Mansfield. The incident happened at 5.39pm on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, on Violet Hill, throwing her into a potentially fatal situation.
White Audi Driver Blocks Pregnant Motorist, Sparks Chaos
The victim, 38 weeks pregnant and driving a blue Volkswagen T-Cross, tried to merge onto Oak Tree Lane via a filter lane. A man behind the wheel of a white Audi A3 aggressively blocked her path, refusing to let her in. Though their cars didn’t touch, the Audi driver’s dangerous stunt forced her onto the wrong side of the road, nearly causing a head-on crash with oncoming traffic.
Abuse and Threats Follow Narrow Escape
Thankfully, no collision occurred. But the situation escalated quickly. Witnesses say the Audi driver wound down his window and hurled abusive language and obscene gestures at the vulnerable pregnant driver. PC Sarah Clifton of Nottinghamshire Police condemned the threatening behaviour and voiced concern for the woman’s wellbeing.
“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dash-cam footage to come forward,” said PC Clifton. “The road was busy at the time, and any information could prove crucial to this investigation.”
