Those returning home are being told to keep all doors and windows firmly closed. Authorities warn against entering gardens due to lingering smoke, debris, and possible hazardous materials.

Police Thank Public for Patience

Inspector Katie Eustace from Nottinghamshire Police said: “I want to thank everyone affected by this fire for their patience. We understand how scary and upsetting an incident like this can be. Thank you to all who stayed away and worked with us over the past two days.”

She added: “Our colleagues at Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service remain on scene. Officers will continue to patrol the area, so please speak to them if you have any questions as you return home.”

Ongoing Investigation and Road Closure

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Forest Road will remain closed at Sandhurst Avenue and Nottingham Road junction while inquiries continue.

Oak Tree Leisure Centre to Close as Residents Return

The Oak Tree Leisure Centre on Jubilee Way South will close soon as affected residents are allowed back into their homes.
