Littlehampton RNLI to Lay Mile-Long Line of Coins in Spectacular Fundraiser
Mile-Long Coin Challenge Kicks Off Mayday Campaign
Littlehampton RNLI Lifeboat Station is set for a cracking fundraising stunt on Monday, May 1st. Starting at 10:30 am, volunteers will line up a mile-long chain of coins from the lifeboat station to the town’s iconic lighthouse — then back again. This quirky event supports RNLI’s vital Mayday fundraiser, pumping cash into lifesaving missions along the UK coast.
RNLI: Lifesavers of the West Sussex Coast
The RNLI depends heavily on volunteer crews who keep the West Sussex shoreline safe, covering areas from Worthing to 1. From May through September, lifeguards patrol Littlehampton East Beach and Bognor Regis beach, watching out for swimmers and beachgoers.
Donate Your Spare Change – Big Difference!
Littlehampton RNLI needs the public’s help to create this mile of coins. You can drop off donations at the lifeboat station shop before or on the day. Every penny raised goes straight to supporting the station’s lifesaving work.
Cian Mathews, Fundraising Chair, said: “Our mile of coins challenge will help protect local lifesavers and ensure they’re ready to spring into action. Got a few coins to spare — even just a penny? Please help us back our brave volunteers. We’re so grateful for every bit of support.”
