Highways England is working hard to release trapped drivers. Motorists are urged to follow the solid square diversion signs:

  1. Exit M2 at Junction 6 and join the A251 southbound towards the A252 in Challock.
  2. At the roundabout, turn west onto the A20 towards Maidstone and M20 Junction 8.
  3. At M20 J8, head westbound towards London.
  4. At Junction 7, leave and take the northbound A249 towards M2 Junction 5.

Expect heavy traffic and delays approaching the closure. Drivers should allow extra travel time or consider alternative routes.
