Serious Crash Shuts A28 Near Wye: Two Pensioners Hurt
The A28 Canterbury Road near Wye is closed after a serious collision involving a Mini and a Daewoo. The smash happened just before 12.45pm at the busy junction of Canterbury Road, Harville Road, and Wye Road.
Two Pensioners Injured and Rushed to Hospital
Both drivers, who are pensioners, suffered injuries and were rushed to William Harvey Hospital. Emergency crews, including kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police, paramedics, and firefighters, arrived quickly at the scene.
Road Closure and Traffic Chaos Expected Until Evening
The A28 is shut between White Hill and The Street junctions. Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is probing the crash. The road is expected to remain closed until at least 8pm, with more delays likely.
Meanwhile, the A2042 Faversham Road is jammed both ways as drivers scramble to find alternative routes.
