Dramatic Rescue as Fishing Boat Sinks in Osborne Bay
Two fishermen were saved tonight after their 18ft fishing boat started taking on water and began to sink. The Coastguard and Cowes RNLI lifeboat responded swiftly, launching just after 7pm to tackle the emergency.
Lifeboat Pumps Water, Tows Sinking Vessel to Safety
The Cowes lifeboat crew jumped into action, using a powerful pump to drain the water flooding the boat. Once stabilized, they towed the stricken vessel and its two crew members back to safety at Trinity Landing in Cowes.

As the boat reached shore, the Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team was ready to meet the crew and offer assistance. A UK Coastguard spokesperson confirmed the coordinated effort:
“The Cowes lifeboat was launched to assist a vessel taking on water in Osborne Bay. Lifeboat crew pumped out the water before towing the vessel back into Cowes harbour. The Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team met them at Trinity Landing.”
Quick thinking and teamwork prevented what could have been a deadly incident at sea.
