DVSA Staff Set Strike Action in April 2023
Staff at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) who are members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union plan to strike in April 2023. The walkout will affect various roles, including:
- Vehicle standards assessors
- Specialist vehicle standards assessors
- Traffic examiners
- Vehicle examiners
Note: Driving examiners have separate strike guidance. See 123.
If you cannot secure a new appointment, and your MOT expires this month or already has, report this to DVSA.
Advice for ATF Managers
If a vehicle standards assessor fails to arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, contact your network business manager immediately.
Vehicle Approval Tests: Expect to Attend Unless Told Otherwise
Go to your vehicle approval test appointment unless DVSA contacts you to cancel. Many specialist vehicle standards assessors might not strike.
If your test is cancelled due to strike action, DVSA will automatically rebook and send you the new appointment details. No need to get in touch.
Stay alert for any updates and plan ahead to avoid disruption caused by the PCS strike.
