Double Drama Off Isle of Wight: Yachts in Trouble
The Yarmouth lifeboat and Needles Coastguard sprung into action this afternoon after a yacht got into serious trouble near the Isle of Wight.
The rescue teams were scrambled just before 3pm on Saturday, June 15th, racing to the scene at Colwell Bay.
Lifeboat Diverts to Second Yacht
On the way, the Yarmouth lifeboat halted to help another yacht that had lost its mast. This second emergency was handed over to the Lymington lifeboat, which also launched to assist the stricken vessel.
Rescue crews are active in the area, with both lifeboats and the Coastguard coordinating efforts to save those in trouble.
