Woman Threatened by Man on Bike in Late-Night Scare
Police are hunting a man after a 23-year-old woman was grabbed and threatened while walking alone in the early hours of Sunday, July 17.
Man on Bike Grabs Woman’s Shoulder
The victim was strolling down Radcliffe Road at around 2.20am when a man on a bike suddenly grabbed her shoulder and threatened to assault her. The brave woman pushed him away and broke free.
Good Samaritan Steps In
Another man saw what was happening and escorted the woman safely home. Meanwhile, the attacker cycled off towards 1 Bridge.
Police Description and Appeal
- White male, slim build
- Under 6 feet tall
- Aged 20-22 years old
- Wearing a grey hoodie
- Spoke with an English accent
Detective Constable Kate Rainscourt from the Western Investigations Team said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw this incident on Sunday morning to come forward and make contact with me. We believe the man cycled off towards Summer 1 and then Northam Bridge.”
She added: “Thankfully these incidents are rare, but they remind us all to stay alert. Always try to walk home with a friend, plan your night out, and have a safe way to get back—whether that’s a taxi, a lift, or someone you trust.”
