Student airlifted to hospital after being struck by car in Portsmouth

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has responded to a road traffic collision in Milton this evening. It is understood that a young student was hit by a car at the eastern end of Locksway Road and sustained serious head injuries. The Air Ambulance landed on the nearby University playing fields before rushing the patient to hospital. Police are asking motorists to avoid the area as road traffic officers investigate the scene.
