Bad Night for Warriors as Morley and Campos Sidelined with Injuries
It was a night to forget for the Warriors as the Kent Kings cruised to victory in the National Trophy. But worse news was unfolding off the track, with star rider Ben Morley rushed to hospital after a nasty crash at Redcar.
Morley Hurt in Air Fence Collision
Morley was blasted into the air fence when a Redcar rider lost control. Initial reports suggested a broken right wrist, but scans have confirmed a severe dislocation with tendon and muscle damage. The injury means Morley faces a lengthy recovery and a big repair bill after also blowing an engine at Birmingham just days earlier.
Campos Out with Shoulder Injury
Scott Campos had a rough evening too. He crashed on the second bend during heat three at Kent and had to pull out with a damaged shoulder. Campos described the pain as feeling like he’d been “hit with a baseball bat.” Fortunately, nothing is broken and his shoulder was put back in place. He’s now bracing for swelling and will be resting up.
More Woes for Jamie Sealey
Warriors’ number eight Jamie Sealey remains in a tough spot after a bad fall at Birmingham on Wednesday. Sealey suffered a broken nose, plus injuries and burns to his right side.
Warriors Scramble Ahead of Bank Holiday Fixture
With a key match at Kent coming up on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon, team manager Jackie Vatcher faces the task of cobbling together a competitive line-up despite the injury crisis.
