Fairweather Festival Set to Return with FoOR Closing Night!
The Isle of Wight’s favourite boutique festival is back! Fairweather Festival returns on Friday 31st August and Saturday 1st September 2018, all in aid of the Isle of Wight Youth Trust. And here’s the scoop: South Coast electronic group FoOR will bring the curtain down on Saturday night with a bang.
Who Are FoOR?
FoOR are a talented collective of producers, musicians, and DJs who’ve been shaking up the electronic music scene for over a decade. From festivals to clubs worldwide, they’ve played it all. Known for their versatile remixes across genres, FoOR recently launched their own label and events brand, FooRwd, this summer.
They’ve dropped two mixtapes: RwD, an old-school garage mix hosted by MC Alasdair from the Artful Dodger, and FooRwD, featuring original tracks and remixes including Skepta’s “That’s Not Me” and their new single “Attention.” Their breakout track was a fresh take on UK garage classic “I’m Sorry,” with soaring vocals by Cameron Bloomfield.
FoOR’s Chart-Topping Success
Their “I’m Sorry” remix got huge love after its debut on Mistajam’s BBC 1Xtra show, racking up over 97,000 SoundCloud plays and 119,000+ views on Vevo. It also earned spots on Kiss Fresh’s playlist, with backing from top DJs like Phil Taggart and Wideboys.
FoOR didn’t stop there. Their remixes of Whitney Houston’s “How Will I Know” and Ultra Nate’s “Free” both hit No.1 on the DJ 1 UK downloads chart. The “Free” remix was the most downloaded track on DJ City in January and reached No.2 on Hype Machine’s most popular Twitter chart, breaking new ground beyond the UK.
Fairweather Festival: Music with a Mission
Fairweather Festival is more than just tunes and fun. It’s a family-friendly event dedicated to making a difference. With top artists from across the globe, the festival raises vital awareness around mental health.
A big chunk of the festival’s profits go directly to charity. Mental health organisations will be onsite to offer support and guidance, helping fight stigma through the universal language of music.
The main beneficiary is the Isle of Wight Youth Trust, which delivers crucial mental health services on the island. Fairweather Festival aims to boost their work by raising much-needed funds this year.
