Third person charged over Jodie Chesney murder

Detectives investigating the murder of Jodie Chesney in Harold Hill have tonight, Wednesday, 13 March charged a third person with her murder. Mr Svenson Ong-a-kwie, 18 , of Hillfoot Road, Collier Row, Romford was arrested on 10 March on suspicion of murder. He has been charged with murder and will appear in custody at Barkingside Magistrates Court on Thursday, 14 March. Two other males have previously been charged with Jodie’s murder. On 5 March, Manuel Petrovic, 20, of Highfield Road, Romford was arrested in Leicester. He was charged with murder and remanded to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on 9 March and subsequently at the Old Bailey on 11 March. A trial date of 2 September has been set. On 8 March, a 16-year-old male from Romford was arrested in London. He was charged with murder and remanded to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on 11 March and subsequently at the Old Bailey on 12 March. Three other people a 50-year-old man; a 38-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy – who were also arrested on 10 March on suspicion of assisting an offender – have been released under investigation. A murder investigation launched by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) continues apace.
