Dead Body Found in Sussex – Not Missing Firefighter
Sussex Police have discovered a dead body but confirmed it is not Anthony, the missing Orpington firefighter. The 33-year-old went missing on December 20 during a pub crawl in Lewes with London Fire Brigade colleagues.
Body Identified as Missing 67-Year-Old Man
The grim find came on Friday, January 3, after police were called out to search for a missing 67-year-old man. His body was recovered from the River Ouse near the Tesco in Lewes that evening.
No Suspicion Around Death
Officers said the death is not being treated as suspicious. The coroner has been informed. Newhaven Coastguard and Shoreham teams joined the search after being called around 2pm to scour the river.
