Dover Cracks Down on Fly-Tipping with Police in Major Clampdown
Dover District Council joined forces with Kent Police’s Rural Task Force for a no-nonsense day of action targeting illegal waste carriers. Their mission? Stop vehicles, check licences, and stamp out fly-tipping that blights Kent’s countryside.
Operation Results: 16 Vehicles Stopped, 4 Notices Issued
On Tuesday, enforcement officers pulled over 16 vehicles suspected of carrying commercial waste unlawfully. Four official notices were handed out. Dover’s Environmental Crime team is hot on the trail of fly-tippers and won’t hesitate to take action.
Cllr Nicholas Kenton, DDC Cabinet Member for Planning and Regulatory Services, said: “This operation is a great example of the proactive work we conduct with our partners to tackle fly-tipping and the impact it has on our communities. We continue to work with our partners to combat this key issue and would encourage members of the public to continue to report fly-tipping to our Environmental Crime team.”
Kent Police: Rural Crime is a Top Priority
Inspector Dave Smith of Kent Police’s Tactical Operations Command added: “Kent Police takes rural crime very seriously and has a dedicated Rural Task Force which focuses solely on tackling those that do our rural communities harm. Working with partners in such operations reinforces our strong relationship with rural communities and helps us build up our intelligence picture so officers can continue proactive enforcement and seek the prosecution of offenders of rural crime.”
