Travellers Ordered Off Rayleigh Leisure Centre Land

A Direction to Leave was handed down on Friday, 2 October 2020, targeting the first group of Travellers who moved onto Rayleigh Leisure Centre grounds on 30 September 2020.

A court summons is set to be served to this group tomorrow, 6 October 2020, escalating the eviction process.

Second Group Faces Separate Removal Action

The authorities have launched a separate removal process for a second group of Travellers who have recently arrived at the site.

Rochford District Council, Essex Countywide Traveller Unit (ECTU), and Essex Police confirmed they are aware of the new group occupying the Rayleigh Leisure Centre car park.

The council continues to collaborate closely with ECTU and Essex Police, who are keeping a close eye on the site to manage the situation.
