Man Charged with Murder After Morden Stabbing
Jamaili Calvert, 20, from Ingatestone Road, Croydon, has been charged with murder, grievous bodily harm, and two counts of robbery. He was remanded in custody and is set to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 13 October.
Two More Men Held Over Fatal Attack
Gerald Atkins, 33, of Greyhound Terrace, Streatham, and Leigh Wright, 28, from Whitworth Road, SE25, were previously charged with murder, two counts of robbery, and causing grievous bodily harm. They appeared in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 8 October. Their next court date is awaited.
Deadly Stabbing Outside Morden Flats
Police were called shortly before 11pm on Thursday, 1 October, following reports of a stabbing outside a block of flats on London Road, Morden. Officers and paramedics found two men with stab wounds.
Patrick Gomes De’Almeida was sadly pronounced dead at the scene at 11.26pm despite emergency efforts. Another man, aged 33, was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
