Dad-of-Four Fatally Stabbed in East London Alley
Police were scrambled at 9.28pm on Friday, 9 October after reports of a stabbing on Southdown Crescent, IG2. Officers found 34-year-old Lee Baxter with serious stab wounds and tried life-saving first aid on the spot.
Despite their efforts and those of the London Ambulance Service, Lee was declared dead at 10.31pm.
Brutal Attack in Alleyway
Lee Baxter, a father-of-four, suffered multiple stab wounds, according to the post-mortem examination. Detectives believe Lee was attacked by a group of men following an argument in a nearby alley. The suspects fled before police arrived.
Lee’s family have been informed and are receiving support from specially-trained officers.
Police Hunt Nissan Juke Driver for Vital Clues
Detective Chief Inspector David Hillier said: “This was a brutal attack, and we are conducting extensive enquiries to understand exactly what happened on the night of Lee’s death.”
Officers want to speak to the driver of a dark-coloured Nissan Juke spotted near the scene around the time of the stabbing. They believe this driver may hold vital information to crack the case.
“Often people have no idea that they may hold valuable information, or think that something they have seen or heard is not important. That’s why I’m asking the driver to please get in touch, as they could hold vital clues but not realise it. If they don’t want to talk to us, they can always speak anonymously to Crimestoppers.”
