14-Year-Old Charged with Murder of James Markham
A 14-year-old boy was charged this morning (Friday, 13 August) with the murder of James Markham, who died on 9 August.
He faces additional charges of carrying a knife in public and breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
Youth Due in Court Today
The teenager is set to appear at Stratford Youth Court later today.
Two Others Released Under Investigation
- Another 14-year-old boy, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, has been released under investigation.
- A 16-year-old girl, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has also been released under investigation.
Fatal Stabbing Shocks Community
Police were called to Churchill Terrace at 6:20pm on Monday after reports of a disturbance.
James, 45, was found with serious injuries. Despite desperate efforts by emergency services and members of the public, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Specialist officers are supporting his next of kin during this difficult time.
