Drug Dealer’s Dangerous Getaway Ends in Crash and Jail
Amii Macey’s wild escape attempt ended in a smash after she hit a parked car and mounted the pavement while fleeing police. The 31-year-old was caught, arrested, and landed a hefty prison sentence.
High-Speed Crash in Herne Bay
On the afternoon of 24 September 2020, Kent Police spotted a suspicious black Volvo cruising Herne Bay. When officers switched on their patrol car’s lights to pull it over, Macey floored it in reverse along Victoria Park.
Her reckless reversing crashed into a parked car with the owner inside and even barely missed a cyclist on the pavement. She tried to drive away but was soon blocked by a police car.
Drugs and Cash Discovered After Foot Chase
Macey bailed from the vehicle and sprinted off, but officers gave chase and swiftly caught her. A search revealed heroin worth up to £640, crack cocaine, and roughly £700 in cash—scattered on the ground, in the car, and sewn into her clothing.
Three Years Inside and Driving Ban
The woman of no fixed address pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, heroin possession with intent to supply, and possession of crack cocaine. On 1 November 2021, Canterbury Crown Court sentenced her to three years behind bars.
She was also banned from driving for two years and must pass an extended retest before getting back on the road.
PC David McIntyre said: “Macey’s actions put herself, the public, and officers at serious risk. This offence had a lasting impact on the motorist whose car she crashed into.”
