Tragic Crash on A2 Near Cobham Services Kills Driver
Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a devastating collision between a car and a Royal Mail lorry on the westbound A2 near Cobham services at around 9:50am.
Paramedics and air ambulance doctors fought to save the car driver, but despite their best efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Road Closures Cause Massive Delays
The eastbound carriageway was shut to allow the air ambulance to land and aid the investigation. It is now reopening, but the London-bound side remains closed and is expected to stay shut for several hours.
Kent Police confirmed: “Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service are currently at the scene of a collision on the London-bound carriageway of the A2 near Gravesend.
The crash involving a lorry and car was reported at 9:50am today. Both carriageways were closed while emergency services deal with the incident.
Motorists Urged to Find Alternative Routes
The police warned of heavy congestion in the area and urged drivers to consider different routes to avoid delays.
