In a tragic incident this morning, a man has lost his life in a flat fire in Kentish Town, North London. The London Fire Brigade responded to the scene just before 7 am, where they found a mid-terraced house converted into flats engulfed in flames on the ground and first floors.

Five individuals managed to evacuate the building before the arrival of the fire brigade. However, upon conducting a search, firefighters discovered a man on the ground floor flat who was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. No further details about the victim have been released at this time.

The fire was brought under control by firefighters by approximately 9:30 am, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Ten fire engines and approximately 70 firefighters from various fire stations, including Kentish Town, Euston, Hornsey, and Soho, were involved in extinguishing the blaze.

A large police cordon has been established in the area, with road closures remaining in place. The Metropolitan Police have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fire and are working alongside the London Fire Brigade.
