Tragedy in Kentish Town: Man Dies in Early Morning Flat Fire

A man has tragically died after a fierce blaze ripped through a flat in Kentish Town, North London, early this morning. The London Fire Brigade rushed to the scene just before 7am to find a mid-terraced house converted into flats blazing across the ground and first floors.

Five Escape, One Found Dead

Five residents managed to flee the building before firefighters arrived. However, crews searching the flats discovered a man on the ground floor, who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have yet to release the victim’s details.

Massive Fire Response Ends by 9:30am

  • Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters battled the blaze.
  • Teams came from Kentish Town, Euston, Hornsey, Soho and surrounding stations.
  • The fire was under control by 9:30am.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Ongoing Police Probes and Road Closures

A large police cordon remains around Woodyard Close, NW5, with road closures in place. The Metropolitan Police are working closely with the London Fire Brigade to establish what sparked the deadly fire. No other injuries have been reported.

“We urge the public not to speculate as investigations continue,” police stated.

Residents nearby are advised to stay cautious and cooperate with emergency personnel still operating on site.
