Teacher Stabbed in Shocking Classroom Attack at Tewkesbury School
Tewkesbury School in Gloucestershire is on urgent lockdown after a teacher was stabbed inside a classroom. Police and emergency services swarmed the Ashchurch Road school this morning as they tackle the chilling incident.
Lockdown Spreads to Nearby Schools
A parent told us their child witnessed the stabbing firsthand. While police have yet to reveal full details, nearby Tirlebrook Primary School was also ordered to lock down, keeping staff and pupils indoors until the threat is neutralised.
On Facebook, Tirlebrook Primary reassured families: “We have a police presence at the school and are receiving full support at this time.” Children at Tirlebrook and Little Oaks are reported safe and well. Parents were urged not to visit or contact the schools to avoid jeopardising the police operation.
Police Confirm Arrest and Victim’s Condition
Gloucestershire Police said an adult was rushed to hospital with a suspected stab wound. Officers were called at 9.10am after reports a pupil had attacked a teacher. A teenage boy has since been arrested in connection with the stabbing.
Parents and carers of students have been directed to Dobbies Garden Centre on Diamond Road, where police are providing support and updates.
