Police have set up a cordon in Broad Street, Swindon, following a serious assault.
At around 9pm last night (11/07), we received a report that a man in his 40s had been stabbed.
He is currently being taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.
A scene has been put in place on Broad Street between the junctions with Alfred Street and Ponting Street and will remain in place overnight.
Please be reassured that there is no threat to the wider public and extensive enquiries are now being carried out.
Residents are likely to see an increased police presence in the area while we investigate.
