Four men have been arrested on suspicion of kidnap and the possession of a firearm after a vehicle failed to stop in a West London street. The incident occurred yesterday (Thursday, July 13) in Swift Road, Hanworth, near Feltham, when the occupants of the vehicle were observed entering a house. Concerns were raised as Metropolitan Police officers received information suggesting that the individuals may be armed.
In response to the situation, armed officers were called to the scene, prompting a “stand-off” as residents watched from their windows and behind a nearby fence. Police dogs were also deployed, and officers armed with guns were seen on Bear Road, adjacent to the incident location.
A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police Service confirmed the events, stating, “At approximately 6:00 PM on Thursday, July 13, officers attempted to stop a car in Hounslow. The car failed to stop, and the occupants were subsequently seen entering a residential property in Swift Road, Feltham.
Due to information indicating that the group may be in possession of a firearm, armed officers were dispatched. Shortly before 9:00 PM, the group was apprehended by the officers without any reported injuries.
The four arrested individuals, all men, remain in custody on suspicion of kidnap and possession of a firearm. Ongoing inquiries are being conducted to further investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
