Tragic House Fire Claims Woman’s Life in Lambeth
A woman has died following a devastating house fire on Railton Road, Lambeth, early this morning.
Fire Tears Through Mid-Terraced Home
Firefighters battled flames that engulfed a two-storey, mid-terraced house. Half of the first floor was completely destroyed. Crews wearing breathing apparatus bravely rescued the woman from upstairs, but sadly she died at the scene.
Two Men Escape Unharmed
Two men escaped the blaze before emergency services arrived. Neither suffered injuries.

- Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters deployed
- Fire under control by 5:03am
- Teams from Acton, Clapham, Peckham and West Norwood stations attended
The London Fire Brigade will investigate the cause of the fire.
