Three men arrested in massive crackdown on county lines drug gang!
Suspects Nabbed Over Drug Supply and Money Laundering
Police hauled in three suspects on suspicion of conspiracy to supply drugs, money laundering, and involvement in an organised crime group. All remain in custody, waiting to be grilled by officers.
£12,000 and Drugs Seized in Major Raid
The crackdown, led by Challenger’s COM South organised crime unit and backed by the Tactical Aid Unit, uncovered a stash of drugs and around £12,000 during raids on multiple properties. The operation targets a notorious county lines network spreading illegal drugs across the region.
Dark Side of County Lines: Exploiting the Vulnerable
County lines gangs peddle drugs via mobile “graft lines” and use vulnerable people to run their operations. Often, they “cuckoo” homes — pushing vulnerable victims into one room and turning the rest of the property into a drug den.
This probe flagged one property showing clear signs of cuckooing, allowing police to step in and safeguard those at risk.
Detective Inspector Pleads With Public for Help
“This morning we detained three men suspected of controlling a property used for storing and dealing class A drugs,” said Detective Inspector Lee Newburn.
“We’ve disrupted the operation and protected vulnerable people from harm.
I urge the public to learn the signs of drug activity and exploitation, and to report anything suspicious so we can act quickly to protect those at risk.”
