Burglars on the Rampage in Nottinghamshire

A savage gang of burglars has hit homes across Sherwood, Chilwell, Bulwell, Woodthorpe, and West Bridgford. Their loot? Precious gold, silver, and jewellery. These criminals aren’t holding back.

Dirty Tricks to Dodge Police

To avoid getting caught, the gang have used cunning tactics. They’ve scrubbed their vehicles with cleaning products and even swapped number plates. Police are now working with neighbouring forces to hunt down these villains. Two suspects are already behind bars.

Shocking Raid Timeline

  • Feb 23, Sherwood: Burglars smashed patio doors on Oxton Avenue, grabbing jewellery after an untidy bedroom ransack.
  • Same day, Perry Road: Attempted break-in foiled when disturbed at 6.40pm.
  • Feb 23, Bramcote Avenue: Two cars stolen—grey Audi and silver Seat Leon—after burglars entered through open windows and nabbed keys. These rides, sporting fake plates, were used in further raids alongside a black BMW and white Ford Transit van.
  • Mar 2, Woodthorpe: An elderly woman was pushed to the ground on Melbury Road, having bangles ripped from her wrist.
  • Mar 15, Nottingham & West Bridgford: Burglars tried to break into homes in Commodore Gardens and Davies Road but fled empty-handed when disturbed.
  • Mar 26, Sneinton: At 8.42pm on Dale Farm Avenue, men broke in through a living room window, stole jewellery, but were scared off.

Police Cry: Stay Alert, Stay Safe!

“These are horrific burglaries causing distress and sleepless nights for victims,” said Detective Constable Colin Kirkup.

“We believe this organised gang is behind multiple East Midlands crimes. Our team’s working round the clock using CCTV, forensics, and cross-force collaboration to catch them.”

“They operate in groups of four or five. Look out for suspicious folks lurking, especially if faces are hidden or they’re wandering driveways.”

“Lock your doors and windows, invest in CCTV or doorbell cameras, and never open to strangers without checking.”

“If you see anything fishy, call 101. Dial 999 if a crime’s underway.”
