Kite Boarder Rescued Off Shoreham After Shocking SOS
Saturday night drama off Shoreham as coastguards scrambled after dozens of 999 calls flagged a kite boarder in trouble near the infamous Power Station.
RNLI Lifeboat Dashes to the Rescue
Shoreham RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was launched immediately. On reaching the scene, the crew spotted the man’s gear wasn’t just any kite board – it was a slick hydrofoil board and a hand sail drifting dangerously east towards Portslade’s Millionaire Row.
Swift Action Saves the Day
The lifeboat team swung into action, recovering the boarder and his kit with expert precision. They ferried him close to his launch point near the hot pipe, where he safely paddled ashore. His sail and kite were left in safe hands at the lifeboat station to be picked up later.
Another heroic job well done by Shoreham RNLI, keeping our waters safe one rescue at a time.
