Teen Arrested Over Attack at Mapperley Park
An 18-year-old male was arrested after a young woman reported being attacked at Digby Park, Mapperley, on April 16, 2023. The victim, also around 18, said the assault took place between 9pm and 9.30pm near a bench by the basketball court.
Suspect Bailed as Police Hunt for Witnesses
The incident was reported on May 2, 2023, and the suspect was detained later that day. He has since been released on bail while inquiries continue.
Detectives Plead for Public Help
Detective Constable Liam Cowan, leading the investigation, urged anyone with information to come forward. He said:
“This was an extremely upsetting ordeal for the victim and specially trained officers are supporting her. Although we have made an arrest, our investigation continues and I would urge anyone with information to please come forward.”
