Community Star Ray Pattemore Gets Top Police Cadet Honour
Decades of Dedication
Ray Pattemore, a retired cop and tireless volunteer, has bagged a Certificate of Recognition for his outstanding work leading the Chippenham Police Cadets. Wiltshire Police’s Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) handed over the award, praising Ray’s unwavering commitment and huge contributions to the community.
Ray’s public service journey started in the 1960s when he joined the police. Over the years, he’s mentored youngsters through the Red Cross Cadets and the Royal Navy Cadets, shaping future leaders with dedication and care.
Still Serving After Retirement
Retiring from the force 19 years ago didn’t slow Ray down. He plunged into community service, joining the ambulance service and later supporting out-of-hours doctors in Chippenham. Since 2016, he’s been at the helm of the Chippenham Police Cadets, guiding the next generation to become community champions.
Respected Leader and Mentor
Ray’s leadership has won admiration from cadets and the public alike. His drive to build public trust in law enforcement shines through, earning widespread respect.
“Community service means everything to me,” Ray said. “I encourage others to join the Police Cadets – it’s a brilliant way to make a real difference.”
Wiltshire Police Praise Ray’s Work
ACC Mark Cooper publicly lauded Ray’s devotion. “Ray’s exceptional care for cadet welfare and his passion for the role are second to none. His contributions are invaluable to Wiltshire Police and our communities,” Cooper stated.
The Chippenham Police Cadets meet every Thursday, 6pm to 8pm, at a local school, giving young people the chance to engage with their community and pick up vital skills.
