Robert Robinson, a 21-year-old local, was tragically stabbed to death on Carteret Way, Deptford, late Thursday night. Emergency services rushed to the scene around 10:35 pm on June 6 but could not save him. His family has been informed of the devastating news.
Two Men Arrested in Connection With Murder
Following the fatal attack, police arrested two men. A 50-year-old suspect has been released on bail, while a 44-year-old remains in custody. Detectives are continuing their inquiries as the community reels from the violent crime.
Police Urge Locals to Come Forward With Information
Detective Inspector Neil Tovey, leading the investigation, called the stabbing “horrific” and pleaded with the neighbourhood for help. He said, “This is a horrific crime committed by persons who chose to arm themselves with weapons and blight our communities. A young man has died in brutal circumstances and his family are grieving.”
Tovey added, “The incident took place on a residential street at a time when many people are likely to have been at home. We believe the local community holds the key to solving this crime. Any information, no matter how small, could assist us in obtaining justice for Robert’s family.”
