Boy Hospitalised After Bleach Thrown in Face in Abbey Wood

A shocking attack in Abbey Wood saw a young boy rushed to hospital after bleach was hurled straight into his face.

Emergency Services Respond to Bleach Assault

On the night of June 10, around 10pm, police and paramedics were scrambled to Eynsham Drive, SE2, after reports of an assault involving a hazardous substance. First responders found the boy with bleach covering his face. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital for further care.

Police have confirmed the boy’s injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing, bringing some relief amid the scare.

Police Launch Investigation – Public Urged to Help

The London Ambulance Service deployed an ambulance crew, fast response paramedics, and a tactical response unit to manage the incident. The crime scene has since been cleared, but the investigation is very much ongoing.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 22:13hrs on Monday, 10 June to reports of a person being attacked with a hazardous substance in Eynsham Drive, SE2. Officers attended along with LAS and found a boy had a substance, believed to be bleach, thrown in his face. He was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening or life-changing. The crime scene is now closed. Enquiries are ongoing.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called at 10.22pm on Monday 10 June to reports of an incident on Eynsham Drive, SE2. We sent an ambulance crew, paramedics in a fast-response car, and tactical response unit members. We treated a teenager at the scene and took them to hospital.”

Police continue to appeal to the public to help catch whoever is responsible for this appalling assault.
