Man Charged with Murder After Alleged Run-Down in Erith
Errol Woodger, 37, has appeared in court accused of murdering 51-year-old Marc Allen. The shocking incident happened back in December 2019 in Erith, where Mr Allen was allegedly run down by his own car. He suffered fatal head injuries and tragically died a month later.
Robbery Turns Deadly on Marc Allen’s Driveway
Prosecutors claim Woodger stole Mr Allen’s keys and car, then drove it into him during a confrontation on Peareswood Road. Mr Allen tried to stop the theft and was thrown over the Mercedes GLA in the struggle.
Woodger allegedly reversed over Mr Allen and rammed him again while trying to escape. The violent collision caused Mr Allen to be hurled over the vehicle.
Victim Dies After Month-Long Battle in Hospital
After the attack, Mr Allen was rushed to King’s College Hospital in south London and placed in a coma. Despite medical efforts, he passed away on January 29, 2020, leaving family and the Erith community devastated.
Accused Remanded as Trial Set for 2025
Woodger, from Mottisfont Road, Abbey Wood, spoke only to confirm his age and identity during a brief Old Bailey hearing. He has been remanded in custody ahead of his trial, scheduled for March 2025.
The court proceedings mark a key move towards justice for Marc Allen, whose untimely death continues to haunt those who knew him.
