Man Charged with Murder After Allegedly Running Down 51-Year-Old with His Own Car in Erith

Errol Woodger, 37, has appeared in court charged with the murder of 51-year-old Marc Allen, who was allegedly run down with his own car in Erith. Prosecutors allege that Woodger robbed Mr Allen of his car before driving into him. The confrontation occurred on Mr Allen’s driveway on Peareswood Road, Erith, when he attempted to challenge the suspected thief. Mr Allen was thrown over the Mercedes GLA during the altercation.

According to the prosecution, Mr. Allen disturbed Woodger, who had stolen the keys to his car. As Mr. Allen tried to prevent the theft, Woodger allegedly reversed the vehicle over him and then drove into him again while attempting to escape. The collision caused Mr Allen to be thrown over the top of the vehicle.

Mr Allen was transported to King’s College Hospital in london/" title="SOUTH LONDON" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpil-monitor-id="31897">south London, where he was placed into a coma. Despite efforts to save him, he died on January 29, 2020.

During a brief hearing at the Old Bailey, Woodger, of mottisfont/" title="Mottisfont" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpil-monitor-id="31898">Mottisfont Road, Abbey Wood, southeast London, spoke only to confirm his age and identity. He has been remanded in custody, with a trial date set for March 2025.
