Man Hospitalised After Swindon Moped Crash
A man in his 50s is fighting for life after a serious collision involving a moped in Butterworth Street, Swindon, just after midnight.
Crash Details and Ongoing Inquiry
Wiltshire Police were called to the scene at around 12:30 AM following reports of a collision between a dark-coloured moped and a parked car. Officers found the injured man with life-threatening wounds and rushed him to hospital.
The Serious Collision Investigation Team is now probing the crash. They’re asking anyone who saw the moped riding near Faringdon Road or Park Lane before the smash to step forward.

Independent Probe Underway
Wiltshire Police have referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) because the moped rider had prior contact with officers. The IOPC will carry out an independent investigation to keep things transparent.
