Argos Unveils Top Toys for Christmas 2024, Featuring Nostalgic Favorites and Interactive Play

With the festive season on the horizon, UK retailer Argos has revealed its annual list of must-have toys for Christmas 2024. This year’s selection, curated by the Argos toy-buying team, blends nostalgia with innovative, interactive play, aiming to inspire creativity and imaginative experiences for children.

The lineup features 20 standout toys, including some beloved classics making a comeback. Among them, Furby, the iconic electronic pet from the 90s, has surged in popularity again, with Argos reporting a 237% increase in searches. Other throwbacks include Beyblades, Polly Pocket, and a fresh take on Trivial Pursuit called Drop Trivia, sure to evoke fond memories for parents while captivating a new generation.

Nina Findley, Argos’s Director of Toy Buying, commented on this year’s toy trends: “There’s a real mix of influences this Christmas, with simple, classic toys continuing to resonate, while nostalgic favourites make a strong comeback. We’ve also seen mindfulness products grow significantly, as well as the continued influence of TV and movie characters.”

Indeed, character-based toys from popular films and series are a big feature in this year’s collection. Fans of the hit show Bluey can expect the House Mega Bundle, while Disney’s Stitch appears in the form of a large plush toy. LEGO enthusiasts will be delighted with sets inspired by the Wicked film adaptation, and Marvel lovers can look forward to a Dancing Groot figure.

Interactive and educational toys also play a significant role in the 2024 selection. Items like The Goo Jitzu Hero Creator encourage kids to explore scientific concepts, while The Story Dream Machine offers a screen-free storytelling experience. Meanwhile, tech-savvy toys like Teksta Purr and Daisy the Yoga Goat are expected to be hits with children eager to engage with high-tech playmates.

Argos’s expertise in predicting holiday toy trends remains a cornerstone of its appeal. Findley added: “At Argos, we’re the ultimate toy experts. Since we opened our doors in 1973, toys have always been at the heart of Argos, and we’re proud to continue delivering the best for children and their families.”

Argos’s full list of Top Toys for Christmas 2024 is now available, with prices ranging from £15 to £89.99. Shoppers can find the toys in Argos stores, online at Argos.co.uk, and at selected Sainsbury’s stores. Many items will also be available at discounted prices as the holiday season approaches.
